Pho Lyfe is a quick hop and skip across from the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Hospital allowing for ease of access to hot pho and delicious spring rolls. Prices are somewhat decent - 1 large pho bowl + set of spring rolls will set you back ~$30 with tip. Fast service with TV playing in the background. Super casual and quick. Keep note that KP employees get a small discount. My pick is the dac biet (combo of steaks etc). Vermicelli bowl with the egg rolls are my go-to as well but would just caveat that the fish sauce wasn't as strong as I would've liked. Spring rolls - always desired and a good pick.
First time here and it was delicious! The service was fast and we got our food right away. It is located next to a Korean supermarket called Kyo po which is super convenient! It is also next to a tous le jours which is a bakery place. The vibe of the restaurant is big and welcoming. The pho was good and tasted herby. They have their own house made chili which was delicious. The bun Bo hue is good! There was lots of meat and the small size portion is a lot!
My family and I came here because it was very conveniently located across the street from the hospital where my dad was staying. The pho was extremely good and also came in the biggest bowl I've seen so far of all the pho places I've been to. We also got the spring rolls, which came piping hot. Thumbs up. The only probably we had run into was that the server gave us a large bowl for my daughter even though we ordered a small, so we ended up paying for the large and had left overs that she didn't eat. Eh, not such a big deal. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
Attractive restaurant with great service, very good food, ample portions. We had the standards--beef pho, spring rolls, and a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and egg rolls. It was all nicely done, though the pork was sweeter than most. An iced coffee was flavorful but more bitter than most. Will be here again.
This is a great Pho house with lots of seating and an extensive menu. My wife and I came for an early dinner last Thursday and there was no one dining in; maybe we beat the early dinner rush? Regardless, we had a nice experience and our food came out on time. Their spring rolls with Chinese sausage were delicious and tasted great with their fish sauce & peanut butter dip. Their fried egg rolls were also yummy and reminded me of Filipino lumpia with its wrapper texture and taste. Their chicken pho was tasty and had lots of shredded chicken pieces. Their broth is bold with enough salt and bone taste. I highly recommend pouring in their house made chili oil into the pho; this is one of the best chili oils I've had. Their chili oil has notes of lemongrass! My wife has their classic pho which was also delicious and full of flavor. This is hands down one of my favorite pho places in the area and I'll always recommend this place to people. We definitely want to come back again!
As someone who grew up in a Vietnamese household and in the Bay Area. I felt like I was spoiled all my life by delicious and authentic Vietnamese dishes. San Jose is by far one of the best places to go for good Vietnamese and Mexican food. I was honestly blown away by this spot. Although $20 for a bowl of pho is kinda insane. It is lowkey worth it if you get the set. The set comes with an appetizer and pho of your choice. The broth is so clean and refreshing. You can taste all the spices and it comes pipping hot, just like how I like it! So bomb, I will definitely be back for sure! It's lowkey expensive but kinda worth it if you ask me!
Service was quick and it's a no-frills place. Pho was pretty good and hearty. Would come back again!
